Thumbelina

This story is about a tiny girl who was born from a tulip. It famous as "Oyaubi-hime" in Japan.
Once, there was a woman who wanted a child. She got a magic seed from a fairy. She put it into a flower pot. The seed grew into a beautiful red gold flower. She kissed it, then the petals of the flower began to open,. Inside was a tiny girl, no bigger than a thumb. One night, a large, lumpy toad crept through the open window. She snatched Thumbelina as she slept. Thumbelina is so pretty, so the toad thought to want Thumbelina to be wife foe her son. Then, the toad's son grinned and gazed at Thumbelina, happily. They kept her on a water lily in middle of the stream. She was averse to marry a toad. She cried. The fishes in the stream heard her cries. They nibbled and nibbled at the water lily. And it was swished away by the stream. Thumbelina floated for days, past villages and wide green fields.
After then, a big brown bettle dropped her in a field. She wove herself a bed with blades of grass, and hung up a leaf to stop the rain.
After then, Thumblina met various animals. Then winter came. Thumblina snivered with cold. A field mouse took Thumbelina back to her snug little home. A rich and clever mole visited her. Thumbelina went with him down a dark tunnel. In the middle of the tunnel lay a bird. Thumbelina took care of him. He recovered and he left. Thumbelina was told "Mole wants to marry you" from the field mouse. However, Thumbelina didn't want to it. So she left from there. She could meet the swallow again. They went to a dazzling white palace. It is his home. In there, she met a king of the Flowers. They married. They became so happy.

I love this story. When I was a kindergartner, I played the part of Thumbelina. I read this story after a long separation, so I felt be a long time. I think the woman who wanted a child was so poor. Because she wanted a child, so she got the magic seed and she got thumbelina who is so tiny and pretty girl. Though, Thumbelina was swept by toad and at last she married to the king of Flower. The woman maybe looking for her.The woman doesn't know everything. I think that Thumbelina should go to the woman's house at least one time. However, Thumbelina and the king of Flower became happy, I am also happy. (427words)
